Ken has 27 years experience in the security industry. He is responsible for providing business-focused security solutions for clients, partners, and the Verizon Business organization. Ken is located in the Seattle, WA area.

Prior to Verizon Business, Ken worked for Unisys as a Senior Security Architect focused on risk management program development, business continuity planning, and wireless security. Ken also worked for a professional services firm, Covestic, which focused on helping organizations in their compliance efforts for Sarbanes-Oxley, Payment Card Industry, and following the ISO 17799 standard. Ken also worked on an innovative security metrics scorecard program, the selection of an enterprise-wide vulnerability scanning system, deployment of PGP, and 10,000 host intrusion prevention system agents. These projects have involved a large Internet content and service provider, industry leading software company, and one of the largest U.S. wireless carriers.

Ken co-founded Fuzion Security, a company that built software to perform comprehensive security assessments and risk analysis that was purchased by Foundstone Security. Before this, he worked as a security specialist supporting Network ICE/Internet Security Systems’ intrusion prevention systems and as the Vulnerability Assessment Practice Manager at Symantec. Prior to getting into information security over 12 years ago, Ken had a 15-year career in traditional corporate security which included being the Corporate Security Director for the Pay ‘n Pak Corporation.

Ken is a CISM, CISSP, CPP, CWSP, G7799, and ABCP. He has a degree in telecommunications, written articles, and has co-authored 10 books which include The Ultimate Security Survey series. Last year, he contributed to “The Convergence of Physical and Information Security in the Context of Enterprise Risk Management” published by The Alliance for Enterprise Security Risk Management (AESRM) and helped develop ASIS’ “Information Asset Protection Guideline”.
